Safety Seats - Car Seats

Car safety seats must be used every single time you and baby get in the car.    Infants ride rear-facing until at least the age of one year and the weight of twenty pounds.    How to select the best car seat? The best car seat is the one that can be made to fit tightly and correctly in your car and that you will use every single time.    Car seat installation is becoming easier with the LATCH system that is increasingly part of new automobiles, but most safety seats are still installed with seatbelts and it is estimated that up to 90% of car seats are installed incorrectly.    Do take advantage of the car seat clinics that may be offered by local community service groups or police and fire stations, where they will check and correct your installation, or consider hiring a certified expert to install your car safety seat.    Then follow the manufacturers' recommendation and the recommendations of the National Transportation Safety Board about when to turn your infant car seat to face forward and when your baby needs a child's car seat.    See the Baby Safety Center for more tips and links on car seat safety.

Baby Clothes

Ah, baby clothes! Cute little Baby Pajamas with feet. Little hats and tiny Baby Socks. Diaper Covers and an entire Baby Layette of onesies, and nightshirts. In choosing baby clothes, as in raising a baby, you need to be both practical and sentimental. You need a lot of easy-to-wash clothes that baby can be gotten into and out of without unnecessary fuss. You're looking at around ten diaper changes a day at the start, not to mention at least three changes of clothes for reasons of messiness or temperature.
