Baby Rattles
Baby rattles are still one of the most enduring Baby Toys. That's because babies from about three months on up are fascinated with cause and effect, and they simply love being able to make things happen by themselves. Rattles and other noisemaking toys thrill babies when they press, push, or shake and a sound comes out. But baby rattles aren't simply the hard wooden or plastic objects you may be thinking of. Many soft toys are rattles as well, and they don't always rattle-they may beep, whistle, crinkle, tinkle or hoot instead. Babies also enjoy the transparent plastic rattles that let them see the little beads inside that are making all that racket. As with all Baby Toys, regularly inspect baby rattles to make sure there are no cracks or leakage that might cause injury or choking (although most new Baby Toys are manufactured to high standards and are nearly indestructible).
Baby Safety Products
There's lots of good news for parents in the area of baby safety products. Safety standards are improving all the time, and children's products are subject to strict federal regulations. More and more baby safety products are coming on the market to help you make your home a welcoming and safe place for your growing, exploring baby. Some of these are as simple as electrical Outlet Covers and Baby Safety Gates. Some of them you may never have thought of, such as toilet locks and cabinet latch systems. Baby Monitors help you keep an ear out for sounds from baby. And of course car Safety Seats are indispensable for any baby or child who rides in a car.
